TPG, Murugappa-backed consortium launches Vayona Energy after acquiring Siemens Gamesa’s onshore wind business
A TPG and Murugappa-backed consortium has completed the acquisition of Siemens Gamesa’s onshore wind business in India and Sri Lanka, rebranding it as Vayona Energy. With nearly 1,000 employees and over 12 GW of assets, Vayona aims to become a leading wind turbine OEM in South Asia, strengthening clean energy deployment with strong manufacturing capabilities and global climate-focused investment.
