TNPCB tells NGT Sun Pharma did not implement proposed expansion in Chengalpattu
The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has told the National Green Tribunal that Sun Pharma did not go ahead with its proposed expansion at Sathammai in Chengalpattu district. The plant, near the Vedanthangal bird sanctuary, had received central environmental clearance in 2022 to raise API output from 25.5 to 134.082 tonnes per month, a move that drew opposition from activists and locals over pollution and ecological concerns.
