TN Govt reforms in high-rise building approvals to reduce sanction time
The Tamil Nadu government has introduced major reforms in high-rise building approvals by empowering CMDA to directly grant or reject planning permissions in the Chennai Metropolitan Area, removing the need for final government clearance. The move aims to improve ease of doing business, enhance transparency, and reduce delays by 30–45 days. It is expected to speed up project execution, lower approval-related costs, and help builders align projects more efficiently with market demand.
