Sakthi Aircraft to start trainer plane manufacturing in Tiruppur in January, easing India’s import reliance

Sakthi Aircraft Industry Pvt Ltd will begin manufacturing trainer aircraft at its Tiruppur facility in Tamil Nadu from January 2026, with deliveries expected by February–March. Backed by a ₹750-crore investment and technology support from Austria’s Diamond Aircraft, the project aims to reduce India’s reliance on imported trainer planes and strengthen the country’s aviation training ecosystem.
