Residential rooftop solar installations cross 16,300 daily under PM Surya Ghar scheme: Pralhad Joshi
Residential rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana have accelerated more than threefold, rising from around 5,000 per day in October 2025 to over 16,300 daily in July 2026, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said. The scheme now benefits around 50 lakh households, while India’s cumulative rooftop solar generation capacity, including government buildings, has reached 14 GW, highlighting rapid growth in residential clean-energy adoption.
