Red Sea re-opening: Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd resume Suez Canal route
Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have resumed routing one of their shared services through the Red Sea and Suez Canal under the Gemini Cooperation. The move, secured by naval assistance, cuts sailing time by nearly a week compared to the Cape of Good Hope route, restoring faster trade between Asia and Europe after nearly two years of detours due to Houthi attacks.
