Railways launches commodity-specific scheduled cargo services across North India
Indian Railways has introduced time-tabled, commodity-specific cargo trains across North India, including Annapurna, Gati-Vahan, Niryaat, and Anantnag Cement services. These routes cut transit times, boost logistics efficiency, and support e-commerce through a revised land monetisation policy enabling sorting and packaging units on railway land for faster goods movement.
