Power Ministry lists 16 imported items to achieve self-sufficiency
The Power Ministry has identified 16 critical power-sector components currently imported, including subsea cables, HVDC valve assemblies and specialised coated steel sheets, to build a domestic manufacturing roadmap. Prepared by the Central Electricity Authority in consultation with industry players, the move aims to reduce import dependence and strengthen self-sufficiency in key electrical and power infrastructure equipment.
