Non-lithium batteries set to cut India's 50% storage imports by 2035: Netra

A NetZero Energy Transition Association (NETRA) survey suggests India could cut its dependence on imported battery storage to 50–52% as domestic manufacturing of sodium-ion, vanadium redox flow, zinc-based and iron-based batteries grows. Currently 89–91% of storage systems and lithium-ion batteries are imported. The report cites 2035 in its headline but 2032 in its body, and will be presented at the Beyond Lithium Summit in New Delhi on 24 October.
