NHAI plans ₹1 lakh crore highway push in Tamil Nadu, 2,500 km projects in pipeline

NHAI has outlined a long-term ₹1 lakh crore highway expansion plan for Tamil Nadu, covering around 2,500 km of projects. The proposed corridors include the Chennai–Trichy–Madurai Greenfield Corridor, six-laning of Chengalpattu–Tindivanam, the Maduravoyal–Sriperumbudur elevated corridor and upgrades connecting key ports. Another 855 km of national highways worth over ₹33,000 crore is already under construction, strengthening freight movement and industrial connectivity across the State.
