New rooftop solar subsidy scheme in TN offers up to Rs 1L aid

Tamil Nadu has launched a new Rooftop Solar Subsidy Scheme, offering domestic consumers financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh for installing 3 kW rooftop solar systems. The State has allocated ₹50 crore for the initiative, which will complement the Centre’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. With 88,133 households currently having rooftop solar systems totalling 320 MW, the scheme aims to accelerate adoption and expand renewable energy capacity.
