MNRE urges power regulator to defer stricter green power rules
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has urged the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) to defer stricter deviation rules for wind and solar producers, warning that higher penalties could deter small and medium firms and impact investment. MNRE suggested using improved forecasting and clean energy storage instead, ensuring India’s renewable growth toward 500 GW by 2030.
