Ligand’ catalysts show promise in quest for green hydrogen
Researchers at Ashoka University have developed nickel–ligand complexes that significantly improve energy efficiency in green hydrogen production. By lowering overpotential and boosting turnover frequency, ligands make cheaper, non-platinum catalysts viable. The study highlights how ligand design stabilizes metals like nickel, cobalt, and copper, paving the way for cost-effective and scalable hydrogen generation technologies.
