Lam Research to invest ₹10,000 crore in India to set-up silicon component making facility

US semiconductor equipment maker Lam Research will invest roughly Rs 10,000 crore in India over several years to set up its first silicon component manufacturing facility, covering silicon ingot production for advanced chip nodes. Announced ahead of SEMICON India 2026, the plan also expands Lam's Bengaluru R&D centre and deepens its local supplier ecosystem after 25+ years in the country.
