ISRO Targets Four Operational Launch Pads by 2029, Including Kulasekarapattinam
ISRO chairman V. Narayanan has outlined plans for four operational launch pads by 2029 as the agency scales towards roughly 50 launches a year. Existing pads at Sriharikota would be joined by a ₹3,985 crore third launch pad, due by March 2029 for next-generation and heavier rockets, and a new Kulasekarapattinam spaceport in Tamil Nadu for small satellite launch vehicles, expected to be operational by 2027.
