Iran war: Surcharges up to $4,000 per container on Arabian Peninsula sea trade

Rising tensions from the Iran–US/Israel conflict have pushed shipping lines to impose war-related surcharges of $1,500 to $4,000 per container on cargo moving to the Arabian Peninsula. Some carriers have also paused accepting shipments. The added Emergency Conflict and War Risk surcharges are expected to increase export costs as shipping firms offset higher operational and insurance risks.
