Indian govt gives sugar mills freedom to decide on ethanol production

This move aims to curb excess sugar output amid a projected bumper crop, optimize ethanol supply, and stabilize domestic sugar availability, while oil marketing companies continue buying ethanol at government-fixed rates for various feedstocks.
