India’s Infrastructure Transformation: From Connectivity to Capacity
India’s infrastructure transformation over the past 12 years has expanded across railways, highways, airports, metros, ports, logistics, industrial parks, housing and water supply. Public capital expenditure has risen to ₹12.2 lakh crore in FY2026–27, supporting large-scale connectivity and capacity-building. Major initiatives such as GatiShakti, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, PMAY and Jal Jeevan Mission are strengthening infrastructure networks and laying the foundation for sustainable, future-ready economic growth.
