India’s industrial jobs cross 2 cr mark in 2024-25

Employment in India's registered manufacturing sector crossed the two crore mark in 2024-25, according to the Annual Survey of Industries. Persons engaged rose 7.19 per cent to 2.10 crore from 1.96 crore, an addition of over 14 lakh. Output grew 7.81 per cent and gross value added 9.59 per cent, while Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana together accounted for over 56 per cent of employment.
