India’s 1st pilot line for semiconductors becomes operational in Gujarat; CG Semi’s plant to roll out initial Make-in-India chip

India’s first pilot semiconductor line is now operational at CG Semi’s OSAT facility in Sanand, Gujarat. The plant will assemble, package, and test micro-controllers for cars, fridges, and drones. With a proposed ₹7,500 crore investment and peak capacity of 0.5 million units/day, this milestone marks a major step in India’s semiconductor manufacturing and self-reliance journey.
