India and Japan Launch Operational Manual for the Joint Crediting Mechanism
India and Japan have launched an operational manual for the Joint Crediting Mechanism, a framework under which Japan supports low-carbon projects in partner countries and receives credits for the resulting emission reductions. The manual lays out procedures for project development, approval and credit issuance. It should make it easier for Indian developers to access Japanese climate finance and technology for decarbonisation projects.
