India added 44.2 GW of solar module and 7.5 GW of cell manufacturing capacity in H1 2025, driven by strong domestic demand and large-scale solar projects, says Mercom India. TOPCon led with 39.9 GW additions. Gujarat accounted for the largest share (41.6%). Despite growth, exports fell due to the U.S. 50% tariff on Indian modules.
