IKEA sets up India development centre in push beyond sourcing
IKEA established a new Product Development Centre in India — only its fourth globally after Sweden, China, and Vietnam — to design home furnishing products for both domestic and international markets. Tasked with developing 500 India-relevant products, the centre marks IKEA's shift from treating India purely as a sourcing base to positioning it as a full value-chain product innovation and export hub.
