Groundwater extraction NOC for commercial users to go digital by end of September

Tamil Nadu’s Water Resources Department plans to digitise the process for issuing groundwater extraction NOCs to industries and commercial users by September-end. The online system, developed with the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, aims to reduce approval timelines from two to three months to around 30–35 days. The initiative will streamline monitoring, introduce self-certification and improve regulatory compliance for groundwater extraction across the State.
