Govt notifies ₹1,27,500-crore Semicon 2.0; spells out eligibility norms, sops for chip ecosystem

The government has notified the ₹1,27,500-crore Semicon 2.0 scheme to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The initiative aims to support chip manufacturing, indigenous design and intellectual property, advanced packaging, equipment, materials, research and talent development. Financial assistance will include grants, equity co-investment and royalty financing for eligible startups and companies, supporting India’s ambition to build a globally competitive and resilient semiconductor industry.
