Govt may call bids for rare earth facilities by January end

India will invite bids by January for setting up rare earth permanent magnet (REPM) manufacturing facilities under a ₹7,280-crore incentive scheme. The initiative aims to build 6,000 MTPA of integrated capacity and reduce dependence on China, as REPMs are critical for EVs, renewable energy, electronics, and defence.
