Government of Tamil Nadu to invest ₹15,032 crore to meet State’s power demand

The Tamil Nadu government has announced a ₹15,032 crore investment to strengthen the state’s power infrastructure amid rising electricity demand. The plan includes establishing and upgrading 121 substations worth ₹10,109 crore and recruiting 15,058 electricity personnel. Additional ₹2,275 crore will be allocated to improve Chennai’s distribution network, aiming to reduce outages and ensure stable power supply across urban and rural regions.
