For renewable energy sector, 2025 was a year of records
India’s renewable energy sector achieved record milestones in 2025, with installed solar capacity crossing 100 GW and wind power exceeding 50 GW. Combined solar and wind capacity reached 186 GW by November, positioning India to surpass 200 GW in 2025-26. Falling battery storage costs have further strengthened renewable energy’s share in power generation.
