Exide invests ₹450 crore in EV battery arm as Bengaluru gigafactory nears commissioning

Exide Industries has invested an additional ₹450 crore in its EV battery subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions, bringing total commitment to ₹4,802 crore as its Bengaluru lithium-ion gigafactory nears commissioning. The funds will support final equipment calibration, trial runs, and working capital. Phase 1 will offer 6 GWh annual capacity with NMC cells for high-performance EVs and LFP chemistry for mass-market vehicles and stationary storage, targeting commercial production in FY26.
