EU readies options to counter China’s rare earth curbs
The European Union is preparing trade measures to counter China’s planned export controls on rare earths and critical materials. The European Commission aims to finalise its response options by November, seeking to safeguard key industrial supplies while pursuing diplomatic talks with Beijing. China currently controls about 70% of global rare earth supply.
