Electronics and mobile manufacturers have urged the government to rationalise basic customs duty on imported components such as PCBs, microphones, and wearables in the Union Budget. The industry seeks a uniform 10% duty to reduce handset manufacturing costs, enhance competitiveness, stabilise supply chains, and boost domestic electronics manufacturing and exports.
