Delhi to induct 2,800 air-conditioned electric buses under PM E-DRIVE

Delhi will induct 2,800 air-conditioned electric buses under the PM E-DRIVE scheme — comprising 1,400 nine-metre and 1,400 twelve-metre units — to strengthen last-mile connectivity across the capital. With 4,300 electric buses already operational, Delhi targets 7,500 by year-end and 14,000 total buses by 2028-29, supported by dedicated charging and power infrastructure across bus depots.
