China to end rare earth controls, probes against chip companies
China has agreed to lift export controls on key rare earth metals—including gallium, germanium, and graphite—and end probes into U.S. semiconductor firms as part of a new trade pact with Washington. In return, the U.S. will pause additional tariffs, marking a major step toward easing trade tensions and stabilizing global supply chains.
