CERC mulls mandatory PPA for getting power transmission connectivity
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has proposed making power purchase agreements (PPAs) mandatory before granting transmission connectivity to renewable energy projects. This aims to address bottlenecks affecting 45.3 GW of projects with Letters of Award but no PPAs, ensuring efficient use of transmission infrastructure and streamlining future project allocation through connectivity-linked auctions or PPA compliance.
