CERC brings in virtual PPA norms for renewable targets
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has introduced virtual power purchase agreement (PPA) norms to help entities meet renewable energy targets without physical power delivery. The move is expected to boost corporate renewable procurement, provide flexibility to buyers and sellers, and accelerate clean energy adoption by enabling financial settlement-based renewable contracts across India.
