Centre plans Rs 39,000 crore carbon capture programme with phased rollout
The Indian government is launching a ₹38,900 crore Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) programme, funding over half of the total outlay. Phased over six years, it will support industries like iron, chemicals, green hydrogen, and coal-based power, combining government support, bank loans, and multilateral funding to reduce emissions and advance India’s net-zero goals.
