Centre Drives ₹18,400-Crore Maritime Investment Push in Thoothukudi

The Centre is advancing over ₹18,400 crore of maritime projects at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, Thoothukudi, over six months. They comprise the ₹17,167 crore Outer Harbour Development Project, the ₹520 crore Berth No. 7 container terminal and a proposed ₹750 crore offshore wind terminal, using public investment and PPP models. The projects aim to raise container capacity, handle larger vessels and support exporters, logistics operators and industry across southern Tamil Nadu.
