Call to move beyond ‘Made in India’ to ‘designed in India
Karnataka Minister Sharana Prakash Rudrappa Patil has called for a shift from “Made in India” to “Designed, Engineered and Owned in India,” stressing the need for stronger innovation-led manufacturing. He urged AI-driven skilling and MSME empowerment to build a global innovation ecosystem. The minister highlighted challenges like finance, land and compliance, and said removing bottlenecks and adopting advanced technologies will be key to transforming India into a design and IP-led economy.
