CAFE III norms: Auto component makers set for windfall as hybrid, electronics demand surges

India’s CAFE III norms FY27–FY32 will significantly raise vehicle compliance costs and accelerate shift from engines to electronics, hybrid systems, and efficiency technologies. Costs per vehicle are projected to rise from ₹18,000–₹26,000 to as high as ₹75,000–₹1.1 lakh by FY32, with ₹61,500 crore–₹1.48 lakh crore investments expected. This transition is expected to benefit auto component makers including Bosch India, Uno Minda, Sona Comstar, Schaeffler India, Endurance Technologies, Exide Industries.
