Cabinet to soon approve ₹37,500 crore incentive scheme to promote coal gasification projects

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs is expected to soon approve a ₹37,500 crore incentive scheme to promote coal gasification projects under the Ministry of Coal. The initiative aims to boost clean energy production, reduce import dependence on LNG, ammonia, and coking coal, and support domestic utilisation of coal resources. It targets 100 million tonnes of gasification capacity by 2030, strengthening India’s energy security and industrial self-reliance.
