The Union Cabinet approved a ₹7,280 crore scheme to establish India’s first integrated rare earth permanent magnet (REPM) manufacturing supply chain, targeting 6,000 TPA capacity. With ₹6,450 crore in sales-linked incentives and ₹750 crore in capital subsidies over seven years, the initiative aims to boost EV, clean energy, electronics, and defence sectors while reducing import dependence and strengthening India’s global competitiveness.
