Cabinet approves ₹1.86 lakh crore Green Energy Corridor to evacuate 135GW renewable energy

The Union Cabinet has approved the Green Energy Corridor Phase-III scheme with an outlay of ₹1.86 lakh crore to strengthen intra-state transmission and evacuate up to 135 GW of renewable energy. It also provides for 50 GWh of battery energy storage, with completion targeted by FY 2032-33. Central financial support totals ₹54,082 crore, and the government expects job creation in manufacturing, construction and energy storage.
