Biogas sector expected to see Rs 5,000 crore investment in 2026-27: IBA
India’s biogas sector is set for over Rs 5,000 crore in investments in 2026-27, driven by growing compressed biogas (CBG) adoption and investor interest, according to the Indian Biogas Association. With more than 100 CBG plants operational, policy support, GST reductions, and efficiency improvements are expected to boost cleaner fuel supply, rural employment, and the sector’s market size to $3–5 billion by 2030.
