The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a power distribution licence for the upcoming Google data centre in Visakhapatnam under a newly introduced policy framework for strategic data centres. The first-of-its-kind policy enables deemed distribution licences (DDL), allowing large data centres to independently procure, develop, and manage power distribution infrastructure, strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s position as a growing digital and technology investment hub.
